How to make Financial dimension as mandatory with red asterisk on vendTable form

Hello Experts,
I need to make Financial dimension as mandatory with red asterisk on vendTable form in D365FO in version 10.0.31 (10.0.1406.58).

Normally on a field we can get this done using personalization however as financial dimension is not a normal control as its DimensionControl so we cant get it done using personalization.

Can please guide how I can achieve this using x++ code .

Hi Mitr,

If you want to make the all-dimension field as mandatory - You can write COC for the VendTable form init method and make the "DefaultDimension" field as mandatory as below.

It won't show us the red asterisk, but it will give you the warning message that dimension must be filled in.

VendTable_ds.object(fieldNum(VendTable, DefaultDimension)).mandatory(true);

But I don't think you can make the particular dimension field as mandatory.

One way it solves my problem.
Just one confirmation is there no way to set the asterisk and red line around the dimension field ?

Since the dimension control is built at runtime - Asterisk symbol is hard to set as it will relate multiple controls mapped to the one field.
I cannot say it's impossible, but you need to do R&D to somehow loop through all the financial dimension controls and set the mandatory.
