Managerial Hierarchy used for Requisition workflow in AZX 2012

Hi,

I've just created a position hierarchy named Requisition_Thai that I intend to use for my new requisition workflow. The way I created this hierarchy using 'Report to position' in Relationships were show in the screen shots below. It looks OK, but when I submit a test requisition, I got error message as below

"11/7/2015 10:25:24 pm:
Stopped (error): X++ Exception: The hierarchy provider did not return any users.
 at SysWorkflowHierarchyProvider-resolve
SysWorkflowHierarchyProvider-resolveHierarchy
SysWorkflowQueue-resume"

So please help & I'm confused what I'm doing are correct or not because at present, there are 03 hierarchies: Lines, Procurement & Requisition_Thai. The first one is used for time sheet workflow. I don't know the second one, but I created the third one for my testing for requisition workflow.

    Hi Thai,

The managerial hierarchy in the workflow is using the position hierarchy of the type line. So it is not looking at the additional position hierarchies.

Possibly you would need to use the line type or create a new hierarchy provider as customization.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your reply that helps me know what the position hierarchy of managerial hierarchy is used for workflow. In fact, the Line hierarchy in my company is setup for time sheets workflow & the way these time sheets are approved is totally different from requisition - single approval (not multiple approval for requisition). I wonder how I can use my position hierarchy for requisition workflow.

    Thanks

    Thai

    Hi Thai,

Like stated in my previous reply, you would need to have a new workflow provider in this scenario. This is a customization.

    Hi Andre,

I'm working on another workflow that assigns specific users instead of using hierarchy. I think if AX let users select what hierarchy they want to use in a workflow, it will be nice & more useful rather than just a line hierarchy (in case of using managerial hierarchy).

    Thanks

    Thai
