Upgrade: get/change operation on table E1_Registration failed accessing SQL data for EONE Extender

Got a site upgrade from 2015->2022 Fall release.

Doing test runs and jumped via 2016 to 2022 Fall release from 2015.

Installation/Upgrade Steps seem to say (as i interpret them) that I can install the 18.00.0xxx.msi when i get to 2018 to upgrade.

I'm getting the error  'E1_Registration' failed accessing SQL data

E1_Registration failed accessing SQL data

I ran the msi after arriving at the fall release and occurs on opening GP.

Before I roll back and try do this in the 2016 step, is that my problem do you think? 0- or will I just get the same issue on 2016, as it is something else?

I'll raise this with EOne, if I don't hear here but trying to beat the time zones and move on.

I had the same error and tried few options like removing files/reinstalling but nothing helped.  Finally I went to SQL maintenance window and dropped and recreated eOneRegistration table objects under Dynamics database for both extender and SL builder. And re-logged in and now it allowed me to register and worked.

When you fire up GP for the first time after the upgrade you will get a popup box asking for eOne registration keys. Make sure you click Save. This will complete the upgrade process for eOne.

    Tim,

Ian's trick might help, but usually I don't run into issues with SLB & Extender upgrades, as long as you make sure the tables get upgraded at the same pace as GP.. i.e. after the 2015 to 2016 upgrade of GP, make sure the eOne products get upgraded too..

some ISV products don' t mind to skip a few major GP versions, some other are more prone to issues as they don't cover the table changes necessarily across multiple GP versions.

Just my 2cts, but that's my experience with eOne products.. yes I know, it implies that you have reg keys for all the intermediate builds, but that's usually not a big deal.

I found that if you are upgrading and you install both Extender and SLB at the same time - then launch GP - you will get this message

If you install SLB; upgrade, then install Extender and upgrade this error doesn't appear

Thats just my experience - I saw this a couple of times before I came to that conclusion ...

    I re-ran the upgrade from 2015.

I went into the registration window and installed smartlist builder and extender again twice.

For anyone else - check the application event log for the msi installer to make sure there are no errors.

Restarted GP a few times while messing on and now it works.

eone support were really quick and gave me new registration keys as my ones for 2018 didn't cut it for the fall 2021 release it seems.

    Tim.

    Tim,

I am not 100% sure which version of Extender you installed.  if you are using the Fall 2022 release of GP (18.4.1361 or something newer), please be sure that you are using the 18.4 release of Extender as well.  https://www.eonesolutions.com/Downloads/Extender/Software/Extender%20(18.04.0101).zip

If you can tell us what the More Info window says, that might help as well.  Also, if you look at the e1reg table in your Dynamics database, do you have the new columns of AccountCode and eOneGUID?

If you go to Microsoft Dynamics GP - Tools - Extender - Extender Registration, what versions are listed there?

If you can confirm your GP and Extender versions as well as the error and table information, we can look at it further.

    Thanks,

    Nicole

Can you remove eOne from the initial upgrade process and get GP upgraded and then install eOne and run GP Utilities again? Make sure you have the correct version of the eOne product you are using.
