Hi Folks,

Can anyone let me know which table stores all the Table's properties data in AX 2009.

I had gone through tables like sysdatabaselog, utilelements, sqlstatistics etc but none of them was helpful.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Vikas Mehta.

The table properties as you see in the AOT are not stored in a (SQL) table, but in the AOD files. You can have a look at the utilelements and utilidelements tables. It's easier to use the AOTTreeNode, as you can see at www.axaptapedia.com/index.php

You can find a list of tables and their fields in the SQLSictionary table. The records in this table that have a field id value of zero are Tables and everything else is a field.

    Thanks Malcolm,

The data in sql dictionary is about the tables and its corresponding fields and not about its properties.

I need a table wherein if i change a property of a table say CustTable's modifieddatetime to yes

this change is recorded in some table which I need to know.

the SqlDictionary Table has a field as modifiedDateTime  its not showing up in sql as well as table browser .could you let me know how can i do the same.

    Thanks,

    Vikas Mehta.

Please see my earlier reply. The table properties are not stored in a (SQL) table. You can look it up in the utilelements/utilidelements tables, but it's better accessible via the AOTTreeNode.

    Hi Vikas

You're out of luck there I'm afraid. All the property info is stored in the layer files not the database (all that changed in AX 2012 of course but that's no use to you on AX 2009) so there isn't any way to capture changes in table properties. As already suggested, you can interrogate table properties using the TreeNode and the DictTable classes but they're not going to help implement any kind of trigger based solution that can be auto executed when a property changes.

The nearest you'd be able to get to logging changes in the way you describe would be to use MorphX source control but even that is not without its problems. With a bit of discipline it might be possible to use it to get some way towards what you want.

    Regards

    Malcolm

    Thanks Malcolm & Xander,

Utilelements and Utilidelement Table were helpful as I wanted to note the modifieddatetime value.

    Thanks,

    Vikas Mehta.
