Exclude specific dimension value from posting on specific account

Hi all,

i am searching for solution, how to exclude one specific dimension value from posting on accounts.

My client wants, that specific account, which hast to have postings with Dimension country can have transactions posted with specific Country dimension.

For example, i have Revenue EU, so everything what would be posted with revenue inland can´t be posted on this specific account.

Is there a possibility to set it up on accounts level?

    Hi Kris,

    Using account structures, you can specify which dimension values are allowed per main account or group of accounts.

    thank you for your reply. But this is not really, what i am looking for.

    I don´t want to allow only few on the account (that would be ok). I want opposite. Only exclude one of the countries to be posted.

    Precisely, I have an Account 501001 and i am posting transactions with dimension Land on it.

    I have, lets say, 25 countries and only Germany should not be posted on that particular account.

    and that i didn´t found. I i would need to setup for like 10 or more accounts all allowed dimensions, it would be horror to take care of it. And with every new country you would need to adjust the setup of the structures.

    Hi Andre,

    because we didn´t found a solution for excluding, we add allowed values per main account. But there is maximum of 7 values possible. Do you know, how to do it differently?

    You could try using the allowed ranges on the Account structure.  So list the allowed countries as one range ( say AAA...GDX) and a second criteria to allow GFA..ZZZ.  This way 'GER' isn't an allowed value.

    Hi,

    thank you for your reply. This i can test, if our approach won´t help.

    For now, we have done it with filter is less than and is greater then.

    The first tests were succesful.

    can you try advance rules? where you just define for which account what dimension is require

    Dear Saurabh,

    thank you for your suggestion. I think it is easier with the solution from me or EM Finance. Because we have a long list of countries, which are required or allowed for the accounts and only one country is forbidden. So it is easier to exclude, than define, what is allowed.
