Cannot edit a record in Payroll details for positions (PayrollPositionDetails).

I unable to modify fields in Employee contract page getting below error.

Cannot edit a record in Payroll details for positions (PayrollPositionDetails). Invalid value specified for 'Effective'. It has to be greater than the 'Effective' of the previous record.

but in positions page Effective is greater than previous record. if I remove previous records system didn't throwing any error.

Kindly advice what are the possible reasons.
