Hello Experts,
My company is planning to Migrate from GP to BC , please provide any source/link talking about this migration.
Thanks and best regards.
Be aware that it is not a migration but a complete reimplementation to a vastly different system which a different user interface, different data model and a different way of working.
GP is not going away any time soon.
Make sure to do your due diligence and ensure you are not going to lose any important features you currently have with GP.
If you are not already on the latest GP, upgrading and making sure you are using all the relevant features is often a better path than changing to a new ERP solution.
Regards
David
Please do not attempt this on your own. It will be in your best interest to solicit a firm that has done this in the past. The learning curve will be steep and historical data will not be directly available. If your users are longtime GP users it is going to take them months before they can become proficient at BC.
Although some tools exist which can help copy some historical data from GP to BC, you should approach this like a new implementation instead of a migration. They are two separate software applications that work differently behind the scenes. Use this as an opportunity to change the things that "have just always been this way", for example, your GL account segments, if necessary.
