Export to PDF in Email form has gone missing

Hi All,

We used to have "Export to PDF" button in the ribbon on the Email form, and we were able to export the email in PDF format, based on the word template I created.

All of a sudden, the "Export to PDF" option is missing on the Email form.

Any idea what could have happened?

Thanks,

Praveen.

    Hi Tom,

Even though MS turned OFF, we were able to turn it ON using Ribbon Workbench.

    Hi Praveen e04,

Currently CRM does not support "Export to PDF" feature for "Email" entity. If you want to perform Export to PDF operation on email entity, you can try our product "Click2Export".
Click2Export is a productivity app to export Report/CRM Views/Document templates from Dynamics 365 in a single click. With this app, you can perform actions such as attach the exported files as Note, upload those files to SharePoint, attach and auto-send the exported files in an Email or download them for offline consumption.

Click here for more information on Click2Export.

    Thanks!

    Hey Praveen,

Great to hear you found a workaround Would you mind please pointing me in the right direction on how to setup the workaround?
Currently having the same issue, I would like to be able to select to export emails as PDF from the ribbon.

I wonder why they turned it off, can't see it documented anywhere. Seems to be available for all other entities bar email..

    Thanks,

    Tom

Thanks Hao. We created a Microsoft ticket and they have confirmed that, it was removed recently, part of the design.

However, we were able to get around that using that using ribbon workbench.

    Regards,

    Praveen.

    Hi Praveen,

Yes, I tested it and "Export to PDF" button is really disabled for Email entity.

So we can only use Power Automate to generate PDF.

    Please refer to

    1. Microsoft Power Automate template
    2. Generating a PDF Document using Microsoft Flow
    3. Generate Document Templates in CDS using Flow
    4. Generate PDF from Document Templates in CDS & Dynamics 365 CE using native Web API with Flow

Thanks for the response. I don't see Email entity in the list. Am I missing anything here?

    Hi Praveen,

Please check if the Email entity has been enabled "Convert to PDF".

    Go to Sales Hub, then

    1. At the bottom of the site map, select Change area 8203.pastedimage1617264994935v1.png and then select App Settings.

    2. In the site map, select Overview.

    3. On the Overview page, under Productivity tools, select Manage for Convert to PDF.
