Problem when printing a report horizontally

ReportReport

Hi everyone,

I've just found an issue with a customer, that it's driving me crazy. We've got a report, that it has been printing horizontally without any problem, and without request page, directly to the printer.

But this morning, I've made a small change in layout, just moving a barcode to a new place. After the change, when I send the report to the printer, it prints vertically, dividing the report in 2 different pages. The only way to print it correctly, is to change requestPage to "yes", and change the printer properties every time we print.

By the way, the orientation is landscape:

Hope anyone has any hint with this issue, because it's quite critical. Every change in every report, causes this problem.

Thank you very much

Please check the report properties and verify if the Paper Size and Interactive Size is set to Landscape

    Hi jgaztanaga,

Please check if this problem persists for other reports as well. If yes there is something wrong in Printer Installation.

If the issue is only for the report check the Paper Size,Interactive Size and also the size of the report might be changed.

Thank to both of you, Suresh and Olister. The issue is still being really extrange.

I have problem with different reports and I don't know if it's any bug of Navision with the printers drivers communication, or the direvers itself. It seems that the drivers are correctly installed. Different examples:

-Report A: DInA4, landscape mode. If a made a small change, it print a single page divided in 2 pages. That could be right, may be i have any problem with margins... I've solved it, but when it print in 2 pages, it change the orientation to vertical. This is what it drives me mad.

-Report B: Custom size, landscape mode. This case is really extrange. In the print driver, there is set the predetermined mode to horizontal. But when sending to the printer, with request page, if we open the printer setup, we can see that it takes the default mode, that is vertical, not the horizontal one that was setted in the driver....

-Report C: DinA4, landscape mode. Another extrange case. It prints horizontally, but it just takes the wiidht of the portrait mode, 210mm. The rest it's blank.

I know it's quite extrange all of this, it's driving me really crazy

    Hi jgaztanaga,

Try printing with a different printer. I've faced the same issue after repairing my printer.

    Hi Jgaztanaga,

Did you try to restart the NAV Service, or run report directly from Development Environment?

Thank you again for your answers. This isue is still driving me absolutely crazy.
Answering to you, Olister, I've send the small report to a DinA4 print, to ensure that it's not a page size problem, but again, it prints in vertical, we have to change manually the printer orientation to horizontal.
Ashwini.123, I've changed that property, and still the same. Have to say, that this property has the same value in the report in 2013.
Talking about 2013, the report has been copied from 2013 directly to 2018. EN 2013 server, is printing perfectly, with the same printer.
I'm quite sure that it's not a layout issue, because if instead of printing, if I save it as excel, it's perfect. May be the communication of NAV with the printer driver... Don't know

Thank you all for your answers. I've seen a extrange thing, but it has helped me, and we have a temporary solution, until we find the cause of the problem. As I've said in earlier message, if I send directly to printer from the request page,  it changes the orientation from horizontal to vertical. But, instead of sending directly to printer, I open the preview, and send it to printer from the preview mode, it prints correctly in landscape mode.

It is a quite extrange thing, don't know which could be the reaseon of that. Could be a bug or something in NAV???

Anyway, thbnk you all for your ansewers and tips, realle appreciated

Could be that windows is rendering your report a little different after the windows update.

How does the preview look compared to the print or if you print to pdf does it show correctly then ?
