Hi all,

I am working in the Inventory Price, when I create a Inventory Journal Line, I am using the debugger to trace the cost Price, it will find the cost price from table: InventItemPrice, but it cannot find any record here. I open the table, there is no record. My question is:

1. Is there any setting to control the record creation of table: InventItemPrice, how can I turn it on?

2. Doing which actions will create a record for InventItemPrice?

The form that shows InventItemPrice records can be found by clicking the 'Price' button on the Item Details form.

However, this is not the only place AX will go to look for prices, depending on your setup and other factors. On your item(s), what is the Inventory model of the Inventory model group? On the Journal line, are you entering positive or negative quantities?

The solution will look at invent price. This is the table where you can play around with several price calculations and activate them. You could poke around there, but finally the check falls back on the inventory cost price set on the inventTableModule.

we use Weighted average. and

we will enter positive and negative quantities depends on the situation.

Hi,

does the inventory closing update the price in InventTableModule?

Where can i find the prices for different variants? In InventItemPrice? I cannot understand why there is only one price for all variants.

It can. AX can update the Cost price on the Item if 'Latest cost price' is ticked. I believe from my testing that if this is ticked, any financially updated receipt (stock) transaction will update the cost price on the item. And since the Weighted average costing methods can create inventory transactions during Inventory close, it follows that Inventory close can update the cost price of the item.

What price? The cost price on the item is not necessarily 'the price'. InventItemPrice is only relevant for Standard Costed Items, I think. If you're using actual costing, the current running average cost price of an item can be found on the 'On-hand' tab of the 'On-hand' inquiry, if you set the 'Dimensions display' right! What 'Storage' and 'Tracking' dimensions do you have with 'Financial Inventory' ticked? What Inventory model do you have on your Item model group?
