Dynamics GP closes with no error message

After I log into Dynamics GP, the program will just close with no error messages. It usually closes before it fully loads or during the first thing I try to do. When I log back in it will show that I am already logged in and have to delete that session.

It seems that if I don't touch my mouse during loading it will work, but if I even move the mouse at all during loading I will have the problem.

We are on version 18.5.1596 (2022 year-end) It has been doing this for several versions.

GP is installed on workstation and connects to SQL database on server.

I am using Windows 10.

We have 3 other users and they do not have this issue.

Does anyone have any idea why this would happen?

Finally found the cause of the error.
My homepage had some KPIs. One of the reports was corrupt. Removing that report fixed the issue.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

    Hi Bob,

We had similar issue last week and turnout to be .Net Framework 3.5,4,4.6 service pack update as it failed to applied. Therefore applied the update manually. So far we have not noticed similar issue since.

    Thanks

Rename your GP directory, then run a Repair against it in Control Panel. This will give you a copy of the GP directory with all folders and files, minus any third party products, customizations, VBA or modified forms/reports.

Test to see if you can successfully launch GP using this 'new' GP directory. If you can, then try adding back these other items, starting with modified forms and reports dictionary files, testing after each one is added, to see if and when the issue of GP closing returns.

Look in the event viewer to see what the error is.

Temporarily remove all customisations and ISV products.

Let us know what you find.

You probably have a corrupt dll in your GP addins folder.

Try renaming your entire GP program folder and then copy GP program folder from a computer that does not have this issue?
