Possible to share an email template built in Marketing with other powerapps / powerapp users?

We have been asked to create an HTML email that can be used by our PowerBI and Power Automate developer to send a notification to customers.

This template should contain several fields including a customer name and another variable data field.

Is it possible for us to build a template within Dynamics Marketing, add in or create the relevant fields that our PowerBI / Automate developer needs (these are 'entities' unless i am incorrect?), and then somehow share this template with the developer for them to use?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Stripey,

We can create email template in Marketing templates > Email templates.

In email of Dynamics 365 for Marketing, it uses dynamic expression(actually HandlebarsJS) to represent variable data(yes, they are "entities"), e.g:

Using {{contact.firstname}} and {{contact.lastname}} to show customer name.

Please refer to the following link for more details about how to work with it:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/dynamic-email-content#expressions-created-by-assist-edit

They can be added to email with several ways:

    1. Add it in HTML editor directly, the expression will be rendered to corresponding data of recipient.

    2. Add it to email content using Code element.

    3. Add it to source code of email directly.

Just make sure that security role of your PowerBI and Power Automate developer has sufficient Read and Edit privileges on Marketing Email Template entity.

The record can be shared to other users by clicking "Share" button on ribbon area.

    Hi Clofly,

I don't have that 'Code' button available under Basic Elements. How can i access that?

    Hi Stripey,

Is 'Code' button the only unavailable element to Basic Elements? Does the issue happen to all marketing email records?

    1. Please open source code of marketing email to check whether marketing email designer tool is enabled.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/custom-template-attributes#show-the-toolbox-and-enable-drag-and-drop-editing

    2. Check whether any of your security role has the privilege to edit Marketing Email entity record.

Hi Clofly, i believe that the code entity may be the only one missing? i have included a screenshot here:

Can you advise on where we need to check on that security role allowing us the privilege of editing the marketing email entity record? we will need to hand this over to our DevOps team to investigate.
