SSRS CollectionLetterJour ERROR: Failed to process request

Posted on by 2,431

HI all,

We have a customer that is printing collection letters in batch to pdf, and it works, but only for a few 100 documents, after which it stops. They can then schedule a new batch an printing continues.
The customer is on AX2012 R3 CU13.

In SSRS we get to following in the log:

Has anyone seen this behavior before? Any idea what could be the cause?

Thanks,
Klaas.

RE: SSRS CollectionLetterJour ERROR: Failed to process request

    Hi Lucas,

I'm one of Klaas' colleagues, we've been looking at this issue together.

Thanks for your input.... I came across this article as well earlier. Unfortunately I don't believe this applies here since our client is currently (Klaas, correct me if I'm wrong) on MS SQL Server 2016 and SSRS 2016.

Also  the article mentions "Internal Error 500", but that error does not appear in the log files at the client site as far as we can tell.

RE: SSRS CollectionLetterJour ERROR: Failed to process request

    Hi Klaas,

I came across this article when searching for that specific error. Not sure if it will apply, but please have a look:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb2645648-fix-export-procedure-fails-when-you-export-a-64-bit-ssrs-2008-r2-report-ssrs-2012-report-or-a-ssrs-2008-report-that-contains-multiple-levels-of-a-document-map-to-the-pdf-format-102087e8-b713-a158-3303-14a3673ef91e

Otherwise, opening a support case to have one of our engineers take a more detailed look is always an option too:

    I hope that helps!
