Emails tracked from Outlook not showing in Timeline in model-driven apps

Posted on by 8

In Dynamics 365 when an E-Mail is tracked from Outlook. The sender field is resolved against contact and lead entity. If the sender is found in contacts, the email is linked to the contact an shows up in the contacts timeline.

When you create a model-driven Power App and track an Email. The sender is resolved, but the activity does not show in the contacts timeline. In model-driven apps only activities with the regarding field set to the contact seem to show up in the time line.

Is there a way to set the beaviour to the D365 way?
Also in none D365 enviroments activites of a contact do not rollup the the parent company.
