Dual Write Wizard fails on "Select Legal Entities" step.

Good morning.

When attempting to connect FO to CRM using the Dual Write Wizard, it lists Dataverse environments correctly, then when I select one, it fails on the Select Legal Entities step with an HTTP 400 error:

Subsequently no legal entities are listed and I cannot proceed.

I don't know where to start with troubleshooting this. Here is what I have confirmed already.

  1. There are four legal entities in FO.
  2. The user account that I'm logged into FO with has SysAdmin access on CRM
  3. The user account is able to enumerate Dataverse environments in the previous step.

Can anyone advise as to how to proceed please? I've opened a case with Microsoft already.

    This issue was caused by the user account not being assigned a Dynamics 365 Finance license in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. This didn't stop the user account from signing into the FO application, but did stop the Dataverse setup.

    Thanks for providing the solution, Phil. Although the F&O application itself is not enforcing it, the documentation talks about adding the license to the users.
