Hello, Dynamics 365 Community members

I navigated to Product Information Management> Products > Release Products
There is a form namely Released Product variants under Product > Product master

Once I open this form and insert column Display order field with table name Product variants configuration, the field gets added onto the page.

Display order field shows all values as /0/

Now I try to edit this field with numbers in serial like 1,2,3 and so on and saves the form and closes it.

When I open the form again, I see Display order field shows /0/ for all the product variants.
Please advise how do I save the number for Display order field and also what is the purpose of it when we already see product variant populating in ascending order.

Thanks!!

You can set this on the Product dimension screen if the "configuration" dimension is active for the product master. This field is used to custom-sort dimensions on e-commerce and POS etc. For example, you would want XS to appear before S.

The screenshot is for size, but the same option is available for configuration dimension if it is enabled on the product.

For easier administration, we usually configure the global display order at the size, color, etc master forms so that you don't have to do it for each product one by one.
