What should I do if I want to cancel the project?

Previously I have created one project ( project P00010) and under that project I created Purchase order and also inputted cost.

After that I created the project ( project P00020)and inputted Purchase order and cost under the project as the same as I did previously(same as project P00010).

Now  I just realized that I have duplicated project on the system as I have already created it previously.

Question:

1.What should I do with the project stage? Is there any project stage that we can use to cancel the project as standard AX function ?

2.What should I do with the Purchase order and cost that I have already inputted in the project created at the second time?

    Hi smerjai,

    For No 1):

I would set the project stage of the duplicate project to finished after step No 2)

    For No 2):

Do you have any transactions created for the purchase order (packing slip/invoice)?

If not, simply try to cancel/delete the purchase order

If you already posted the packing slip but not the invoice then you can cancel the packing slip transaction in the product receipt form.

If you also posted the Purchase Order invoice then probably the easiest way to "cancel" this posting is using the project adjustment functionality. If you posted the PO invoice all your items shall be consumed, that is moved out of the inventory and recognized as Project costs - please double check that. If so, a simple Project adjustment transaction will help you getting your project postings right.

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

I am sorry I am not clear with the project adjustment function.

After I changed the project status to finish, what should I do with the posted PO invoice ?

I never use the adjustment function so could you guide me more how to use it?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

Making an adjustment should not be so hard.

If you have closed your project you need to reopen it again by changing the project stage to in process.

Thereafter you can run the adjustment function

In the upper part of the form you select the transactions you want to adjust, then press the adjust button and in the lower part you can make your adjustment and post your transactions. AX helps you with this process by some selection forms that Pop up once you press one of those Buttons.

For additional details/examples, please see: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh227554.aspx

    Hope this helps,

    Hi
    i have same issue.
I have adjusted the Purchase order transaction,But my project WIP cost still same, not yet reduced.  and also it is not reverse my PO invoice transaction
If i adjust the PO item qty, where this adjust qty will go either to inventory or return purchase order.
