How to work with multi tenants?

Hi all,

I have this company who got users in europe thats on a european tenant and also users in china on a chinese tenant.

Now they want to merge these 2 offices so they can share data.

My first thought would be to set up a chinese instance in the european tenant but the internet is to slow for the chinese people to connect to a european tenant so it dosnt work.

Is there a way to integrate these two tenants so they can share data without having the chinese people log in to a european tenant?

How does other companies work with this problem?

Ideally, you have to create only one Tenant and two parent business units i.e., Europe and China.

You can migrate both tenant data in one tenant and provide access to all.

You can use multilingual feature for translation.

The problem is that the chinese office has to much latency to work with a european tenant. And they cant have a Chinese tenant for the europeans because china is the only country outside of europa.

Ok. At some point you have to merge tenants.

    Are they have same domain?

They dont have the same domain. I'd really like to know how other companies managed with this. As i understand the internet in china is really bad unless you pay a whole lot of money to get something decent. So i dont really have an answer that would be best practice and work out for this company.

    Hi,

No, you cannot share data between tenants or for that matter different instances. You need to have a single instance which can be used by all the users. If the internet is slow in China then you can have your tenant/ instance in china and let other use that. If you still face performance issue, you can contact Microsoft and they can review and suggest you better options. It is possible that they can move the tenant to a location which has better performance from both Europe & China (if there is a performance problem)

If the no. of users are more than 250, you can contact Microsoft Fastrack team which provide you with more specicifc answer.

    Hope this helps.
