All editable grid fields locked despite being open on the form

Has anyone else encountered the issue where all fields on an editable grid are appearing as locked and read only, despite them being editable on the actual form?

I've set up a couple of custom entities now with the Editable Grid control enabled, but despite all of the fields on the view being unlocked they all appear with the padlock icon and you can't change them without opening the record.

We're currently running 8.2.1.176 On Premise.  I'm beginning to wonder whether there is a problem with our deployment because I can't find any other reference to this problem online.

Thanks.

It seems this is happening from time to time.

There was a thread some time ago:

No definitive answer there.. but you might want to try what I did there (that said, it happened to me once and did not happen again)

    Thanks Alex.

I've found that if I package the entity and views etc into a solution and import into a replica test environment the issue doesn't occur. But with 4 custom entities and multiple attempts to add/remove the editable grid control it still behaves the same on our live environment.  So I think our problem might be due to the deployment of our live environment.

I will log a support ticket with Microsoft and if we manage to find a resolution I will post it here.

    Thanks

    Craig

    Hi Craig,

just ran into this again.. the "fix" was to open another browser. There seem to be great deal of caching there:) Not sure if it helps in your case, but it's worth a try.

Thanks Alex. My issue seemed to be persistent regardless of the browser I used, and I've now received an update from Microsoft that they have been able to replicate the issue in their environment and they've confirmed there is a bug.

My environment is 8.2.1.176 on-premise. If I deploy the same customisation into 8.2.0 it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Hi, Craig.  I hope you have had resolution to this, but if not, please let me share.  We were having the same problem and worked with Microsoft for months to try to resolve the issue.  In working with a third-party vendor solution, we encountered an unrelated problem to which the solution was in configuring our web API properly.  When we did this, we noticed our grids suddenly became editable.  So the answer for us was to configure the web API.  Hope this is helpful.

    Hi Craig,

The fields in your view are the lookup on the form? if yes then you wont be able to edit that field. you can only edit the field related to that entity.

If it resolve your query, please mark my answer as verified.

    Thanks,

    Shahbaaz
