Data entity staging table not updated

Hi guys,

If we add new field in Data entity, we just need to Right Click and choose Update Staging Table, right ?

I added field in SalesTable (extension) and go to SalesOrderHeaderEntity (also my extension), added my field in Fields node. As this is an extenson, there is no menu to Update staging, instead there is menu to go to the original SalesOrderHeaderEntity. From there I Update Staging, Nothing happened, my new fields is not added.

Anything wrong ?

You will need to create an extension of the staging table as Sergei and Vinit suggested. You can take a look at SalesOrderHeaderV2Staging.RevRec as an example.

Unrelated to this question, please have a look if the entity you are modifying has been marked as Obsolete. SalesOrderHeaderEntity has the property "Is Obsolete" marked as Yes. You should probably avoid modifying these.

Hi WWwong,

For extension of data entities, you need to manually add the fields in staging tables. So you will need to go SalesOrderHeaderStaging table and create an extension and can copy-paste the field directly from SalesTable extension. Build , DB sync, then you are good to go.

Hi WWwong,

I think it's expected behavior. "Update staging table" will update the staging table assigned to the entity which in your case is part of "Application Suite" model and you can't change it directly. In your case, you need to create an extension for the staging table manually and add fields manually to the staging table extension (or you can copy fields from SalesTable extension if there is a one-to-one match between field names).
