NAV does not work like that. One can create many purchase orders containing whatever Fixed Assets, and this Purchase Orders can be in the system in open statuses as drafts of something - they are not posted, and they do not influence anyhow the operations with your real Fixed Asset and its value.

The only real thing is what have been posted to Fixed Asset card to from its value. If you have not posted some real important Purchase Order, it is a different problem - you should either have posted that purchase order before the disposal, or you can now post this invoice separately but not to a Fixed Asset card but directly to the G/L account where the FA cost would go during the disposal...

    Hi Hasitha,

I used FA G/L Journal to dispose the Fixed Asset.

    Hi Eri Aron,

Did you use the FA G/L Journal or Sales Invoice to dispose the Fixed Asset ?

You can't dispose the fixed asset using the FA G/L Journal if you haven't acquired it.

    Hi Alexander,

    Thank you for your reply,

I mean, I get an error message below when I try to clear the purchase order.

Fixed Asset No.=FAxxxx in Depreciation Book Code = COMPANY is disposed.

We disposed the Fixed Asset not known that a  Purchase order that contain the Fixed Asset is not cleared/posted.

I am thinking the system should prevent such scenario.

    1. The system prevented the purchase order  from being deleted/cleared because it is disposed and that is acceptable.

    2.  I expect an error  when disposing Fixed asset if purchase order contain the Fixed Asset  in question is not posted/cleared.

    Thanks

I'm not sure we understand fully your request.

In standard, it is possible to dispose a Fixed Asset when it has been purchased (purchase order has been posted). Unless purchase order it not posted, there is nothing to dispose yet (there is no value in the Fixed Asset card).
