Actually the backup is managed by Microsoft, no way to schedule an auto-backup.

    Hi Stefano,

Thanks for all of your valuable participation on this forum!

A question from my side about backups is if a client makes a mistake with a large general journal entry and wants to revert back to the moment before they posted this, are they able to or do they need to reverse the journal manually?

No actually if they've done an error like that, you have to revert manually. A backup cannot be launched by the end user. I suggest in these cases to open an issue with Microsoft and they can provide you a restore.

    Hello,

Is it still impossible to make a backup? Any change with the new update about this?

    Thanks.

Yes, you cannot manually perform a database backup on the online platform (SaaS). If you need a backup, you have to ask Microsoft now.

Soon it will be possible to create a sandbox from a production environment if this can help.

As of now, auto backup is managed by Microsoft but if you want you can dump the data using the Standard Packages. (config packages)

We are just about to go live with Business Central and i am just thinking about worst case scenarios if something went wrong.

There is the Business Central Admin Centre where it seems i can take 10 database exports a month manually, but is there some sort of backup frequency with Microsoft via Azure or something - i would have imagined there would be something like this - docs.microsoft.com/.../backup-restore-instances

It seems it might be done via Microsoft via a request, but would be nice to see something?
