Hi

I was wondering if some of you have made some cool technical / developer tools that can make the working day easier.

Tools like table browser directly from a form.

Basically anything that makes our day easier

Kind regards

Steen

    Hi Steen,

You could open a browser window and navigate to your environment by the url:

    https://<your dynamics 365FO>/?mi=SysTableBrowser&tableName=[tablename]&cmp=[company]

    e.g.

    https : // usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/?mi=SysTableBrowser&prt=initial&limitednav=false&cmp=usmf&tablename=CustTable

    See the blog:

That's a very wide topic. There are a huge amount of tools and even Visual Studio itself has many useful features. Let me just a mention a few things I use a lot:

    • I used to use ReAttach extension in Visual Studio 2015 to quick attach debugger to the web server. But I don't need anymore since I moved to VS 2017.
    • I love scrollbar map mode (VS Options > Text Editor > All languages > Scroll bars > Use map mode for vertical scrollbars)
    • Insert JSON as classes and Insert XML as classes are extremely useful when dealing with integration. For example, last week I used it to generate classes for data package manifest and headers (for creating packages from code).
    • Ctrl+D, D (in VS) is perfect for formatting XML documents.
    • VSColorOutput extension helps me to highlight important information in the Output window.
    • You can change colors for X++ code. Default colors for literals and labels look to dark to me (in the dark theme of VS).
    • A .NET disassembler is an extremely valuable tool when exploring Microsoft libraries.
