Retained Earnings and YTD Net Income

Posted on by 1,599

This is an age old Dynamics SL question that pops up every once in a blue moon.  I have a client on SL2011, in the process of upgrading and they raised a question asking if the retained earnings and YTD Net Income could be consolidated under a single sub-account.  Better said if Solomon could be configured so RE and YTD net income display under a single sub.

I know where this is going, but wanted to see if any of our Plumbline or Microsoft reps could provide an answer.  Look forward to a response.  Thank you!

    hello JG,

I believe it uses the subaccounts from the transactions that update YTD net earnings ..and then transfers using the same subaccount to RE when the year closes. So if you use just one subaccount ....well this is highly unlikely. So as its designed you cannot assign subs to either account.

But there may be some tool that could be used. I'm hoping another partner could respond if they know of such a tool.

    Best Regards,
