This is for D365 F&O. I have created some financial reports using the Report Designer. A CFO does not want others to even see the names of a few Financial Reports I create for him. How can I restrict select Report Definitions to be visible in the menu to only him?
I have considered the options you suggest. Bottom line, a system mod is what we may have to do. Thank you for confirming with me the limitation of FR.

If the standard features are not sufficient in your case then the only thing remaining is making a system modification.
Yet, if the main issue is related only to viewing the reports by specific managers maybe somebody can create the reports that the managers should see and store them in drive that they can access. In other words, the reports are prepared for them outside D365FO and they do not even need access to D365FO.
This workaround would also save you some license costs but requires some additional (manual) work for creating the reports.

Thank you for your response. I am aware of the security role/duty/privs and their purpose; they provide the access into FR overall. What I am after is, once a user has that access (say Viewer), how do I prevent them from then seeing certain specific reports in the FR menu ReportTree? A Budget person has no business even knowing by name what reports the CEO/CFO have access to.
