Dynamics 365 Field Service Integration with Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hi all,

I am exploring the integration of Field Service & Business Central.

For integrating Business Central & Sales, we need major 2 steps, 1 - Create Dataverse Synchronization, 2 - Create Sales Synchronization.

In the whole setup, specific entities will sync and the logic will be we need a virtual Database to handle the synchronization & exceptions.

However, for Field Service, there is no specific setup of linking with Business Central.

May we know if how it can be done? May we know any documentation can be reference?

Thank you.

    Hi Candy,

For Field Service, there is no specific setup to integrate with Business Central.

But you can create an integration table mapping.

The following link is the relevant official document.

In the link to Zhu Yun’s blog below, there is detail of walkthrough.

    Hi Candy,

the synchronization between CRM (Field Service module) and Business Central can be done by  C# or JS code calling the exposed BC API's or simply by PowerAutomate flows using the native connector for BC.

The native BC connector also permits to call custom API's on it.

I thought the two were just different (but similar) apps on top of Dataverse, with Business Central being more like a entry-level subset of Field Service with lots of stuff done for you to make it easier without the need for as much custom development.

Similar to Apple's ecosystem which boxes you in "for your own good", vs Android which let's you do whatever you want.

Yes, they are different apps but we would like to integrate them since Business Central got a service order but there is more field service features for dispatcher in Field Service. As for Sales, it can help out to sync up entitys by Assisted Setup, hope there will be something similar for Field Service to make it easier :(

    Thanks for your reply.

It seems we must create the connections by coding. Will go through the documentation and tutorials. Thank you for the help.

    Thanks for your reply.

Understanding that it can be done by C# / JS for synchronization, may we know about more on Power Automate? If we can using Power Automate, how to handle the data sync conflict issue?

RE: Dynamics 365 Field Service Integration with Dynamics 365 Business Central

Supply Chain Management enables synchronization of business processes between Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and Dynamics 365 Field Service. The integration scenarios are configured by using extensible Data integrator templates and Microsoft Dataverse to enable the synchronization of business processes. Standard templates can be used to create custom integration projects, where additional standard and custom columns and tables can be mapped to adjust the integration and meet specific business needs.
