Does it need to go through the solution deployment pipeline e.g. Dev->QA->UAT->Pro, when I set a system view as default view? Thanks.

Did you check that whether it is the system view, because only public views and personal view can be set as default.

And it need to go through the solution deployment pipeline to update the configuration.
But you don’t need to set a new pipeline, the original pipeline can continue update the solution by clicking the “Deploy here”.
