When I send emails to contacts (or accounts) they do not show up in the activity history for that contact (or account) unless the "regarding" field is set to that contact. So if I email a contact regarding a campaign, and put the campaign in the regarding field, that email will show up in the activity history for the campaign but it will not show up in the activity history for the contact. When I'm reading any particular contact's activity history I would like to see ALL communication history with that contact.

Hi Alex - thanks for responding. I am looking at activity in the contact's page. Example:
Jack is a contact. I send Jack an email regarding 'real estate deal'. Then when I go to Jack's contact page, I do not see that email in his activity history. The only way to make emails show up in his activity history is to send Jack emails regarding 'Jack'. I literally have to send Jack an email regarding 'Jack' if I want it to show up in his activity history.
This doesn't make sense to me. If I send Jack an email regarding 'real estate deal' today, and send him an email regarding 'tax credits' tomorrow, both should show up in his activity history. But I can't figure out how to make that happen.
Thanks again for your help!
Hi,
are you looking at the activity history in the associated view(won't be showing up there) or in the activities pane (should be showing up there)?
Associated view is all about showing "regarding" activities. For example, have a look at this thread:
Yes, the emails show the contact in the to/from fields. Nothing in the Contact record but yes it shows in the Regarding record. Thanks for taking the time to respond!
Are the emails correctly showing the contact in the To/From fields?
If the email correctly has the contact linked in the To field, then it should show up on the Contact record and on the Regarding record.
