It appears that users cannot print more than 28 characters for the Filer's name area. I would like to know if this can be changed or if there's a way to change the font to fit more information in that area.

Not sure if you've been able to resolve this issue, but you should be able to use Report Writer to adjust the size of the field or the font.
Go to the Microsoft Dynamics GP menu, point to Tools > Customize > Report Writer. In the Product list, click Microsoft Dynamics GP, and then click OK. Locate and Open the desired report.
Or with the report printed to screen, select the Customize option to open Report Writer and load the report for editing.
