Closest feature to Dynamics SL's "Copy and Paste" from Excel

Hi,

We are preparing to transition from Dynamics SL 2011 to AX 2012 R2.

We are heavy users of the Copy & Paste from Excel feature when processing all sorts of transactions (GL, Bank, Accounts Payble invoices etc) in SL.

Users may perform upwards of 100-200 copy and pastes per month altogether.

My understanding is that Dynamics AX does not have this feature so i am trying to work out what is the closest alternative.

Would it be importing using Excel add-in?

    Hi Anthony,

    I understand that you want to copy from Excel in to AX?

    You can use the Excel add-in together with a General Journal service to upload the journals.

    The Data Import/Export Framework in AX 2012  is an alternative option. This is standard included as of CU7.

    You mentioned AX 2012 R2. You are aware that recently AX 2012 R3 has been released?

    Hi Andre,

    Do you know if the GL Journal Upload service using excel should allow the user to use copy and paste to load the excel upload table?  I have a working upload if I manually key in the data.  If I copy the data from another worksheet with the same format into the upload worksheet, it does not upload when I publish.  I see the data in excel correctly but the journal loads a journal header with empty lines.  Do you have any ideas or thoughts on this?  Our client is using AX 2012 R3.  Thank you for any help you can provide!
