Customer journey set-up - preventing duplicates across multiple subscription centers

Hello,

Fairly new to CRM administration and would appreciate some advice/tips on setting up customer journeys.

Our organisation requires the use of different subscription centers:

  • one general subscription center - open to all contacts
  • a few specific subscription centers - open only to select groups of contacts - not open to the wider public

Some but not all contacts will however subscribe to both the open subscription center topics as well as their relevant closed-group topics. This is allowed.

Challenge:

When creating a customer journey that effectively spans across all contacts and all subscription centers in our organisation (for example an annual Happy New Year e-mail), I need to ensure that contacts only receive the e-mail once!

One can only add a single subscription center link (via content settings) to a customer journey - I therefore have to set-up separate journeys per subscription center (unless I'm missing something).

Question:

How do I best set-up a sequence of journeys to prevent duplicate mails from being sent to the same contacts belonging to more than one subscription center?

I hope this makes sense and thanks a lot in advance for your help.

    Hi,

Please create a dynamic segment to filter out the contacts who have received the email.

Ref: Create segments based on interactions (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

    It would be something like:

After going live the segment, when you created a new journey, you can set the segment as the exclusion audience.

    For example:

It allows to ensure that the received ones will not be delivered again.

Also, to avoid delays in refreshing contacts in the segment, it is recommended to set a certain time difference between journeys.

You can use wait for/ wait until tile to achieve it.
