Management Reporter 2012 Configuration Error (Upgrade to existing 2.0)

Can anyone (also on the bleeding edge) tell me where the MR2012 "deployment log" is located.  I am faced with the helpful error message from the Configure Management Reporter Screen:

An error occurred while configuring 'Management Reporter Application Service'. Check the deployment log for details.  Gee, it might be nice for 'em to give a link or a path, huh?

(The event viewer says the service installed successfully.)

There was nothing in c:\Windows\Logs or c:\windows\installer or in my installation directory.  Further I searched for logs under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics ERP\Management Reporter and nothing...  And finally, nothing here: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics ERP\Management Reporter\2.1\Server\Console

    Also, my service user is already added to the GeneralUser role in the database.  The Readme indicates the error can occur if it isnt'.

    The deployment logs are also available under the 'logs' area in the Configuration Console. I've seen a few people receive this error because their user installing Management Reporter or the user they are selecting as the first administrator is a user without a 'Display Name' set in Active Directory. Verify this value is set to something as it  has caused problems in a few installations.

    if you use SQL server 2014 must install Management Reporter CU9
