Saas solution, is it possible to delete fields and procedures on pages etc once they are marked obsoletestate removed in code?

Posted on by 5

Hi

Im working with al code in business central on a ISV solution. We have mostly been working onprem customers, we have recently updated the solution to be cloud ready and gotten our first customer on cloud.

And we have released a new update to the cloud(saas) customer, we have made some changes to the solution. Example removed a procedure from a page entirely without using obsolete state. which caused the upgrade to fail. (my colleauge who did this, so not 100% on the details here) .

I've read up on docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-deprecation-guidelines

But i still find it a little unclear, once the procedures have been marked "removed" in obsolete state. Will it be possible to delete the procedure from the solution in later versions or do you just have to keep it around in the solution "forever"?

Yes, i belive that is possible.

Same goes for other stuff, except tables, table fields and table keys.
