Customer Item Number

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know why in the Sales Transaction Entry window process > Manufacturing Series Sales Item Detail window  the Customer Item Number is not displayed?  I have the customer item number entered in Customer Item Maintenance window under Cards>Sales>Customer Item Maintenance.  Is there any thing I am missing to get this number to show up on the Mfg. Series Sales Item Detail screen?

Thanks for any input.

The customer Item Number you are referring is a data entry field and system is not pulling the information for this field from customer item Maintenance window. see below description for this field.

Although you can use customization to pull the desired customer item number information in the field. : -)

Customer Item Number: Enter the customer’s identifier for this sales order line item. For example, suppose your business manufactures basic electronic components such as transformers. The transformers are sold to other electronics manufacturers who use them in their processes to build telephone systems. Your customers probably want to use their own part-numbering scheme for component items, and so they assign different part numbers to your products.

    Almas,

I think that you are saying that the field on the Manufacturing module Sales Item Detail is not the same "thing/field" as the field also named Customer Item Number in SOP module.

So the manufacturing one is just a "dumb" field for entering information, not looking it up from the other module?

    Tim.

Thanks for your answer.  I was thinking that was what the answer would be.  Just doesn't make much to enter a different or same item number in that field.  I was hoping that the system would pull in the designated customer item.
