    Hi Mahmoud,

Usually, a user can abort the current workflow instance. Then the user could make changes and then submit again for approval. E.g. you can have a look at the project timesheet approval where this is correctly implemented in the standard application. Revoking the workflow causes also a reset in the workflow status field.

    Hi André,

I agree with you.but what I am trying to do is to restart workflow from the beginning if the user reject it and the originator resubmit it again. The standard is after resubmit the record it will go back to the rejected step and neglect the previous steps although the data may be changed before resubmit again.

    Hi Mahmoud Salah,

I'm facing a similar problem regarding a rejection in the WF process.

Did you find a solution to re-start the workflow when re-submitting a document with or without changes in the concerned document ?

    Thank you for your reply.

    Regards,

Hi Mahmoud Salah and Vimal S,

A 'Rejection' means; system will start from the same stage where it was rejected for further review even though you have updated details before re-submit for approval.

You can start a new workflow instance from the beginning only when you 'Recall' the current workflow. 'Recall' action will abort the proceeding of the current workflow instance. This is default design in system.

But would like to know why you are looking for such requirement. Is that something creating a concern from audit point of view? If 'Yes', then you can apply recall action. This is how you can make one workflow instance to end.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

    Hi Sourav Dam,

    Thank you for your reply.

Actually, I'm looking for a solution here without using the Recall option, which our end user forget to use it while re-submitting the document with an update.

Here is an example : (see. image attached)

When an approval has been rejected (or change request) at the level 4, the end user modifies the purchase amount for more than $100K and re-submits.

Then, by default, the workflow starts again from the level 4 for approval, but the condition at level 3 (Amount <= 100K$ ?) is not respected.

So, I'm looking for a solution so that after resubmitting, the workflow starts either from the beginning (START) or from the previous stage (i.e. from the level 3, for this example).

Or otherwise, while rejection at an approval level, the workflow ends (END). Is there any possible condition to do so ?

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    Vimal.S
