Eriks Tiny Editor Control does not work with nav 2015?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi

I have used "Eriks tiny editor control" (http://www.hougaard.com/wysiwyg-editing-control-for-dynamics-nav-2013-and-2015/) for our client which was running nav 2013

This client is now converted to nav 2015 and I cannot get the editor working. When I try to compile the page object which is using the controle addin I get the following errormessage:

"Could not load the type

'EriksTinyEditorControl;PublivKeyToken=c87fd1af2bffc7dc' "

I have added the .dll to the following locations:

* C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\80\Service\Add-ins

* C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\80\RoleTailored Client\Add-ins

I suspect that the control does not work for nav2015 but this Erik says otherwise :)

Any help is appreciated!

    The issue is now "resolved" as the control addin works in nav2016 and I upgraded the system

    maybe nothing. quite strange.

    what you can Do else :

    check permissions of addins folder

    set object Cache to 0

    recompile all objects

    check if you have same problems with other addins

    download new copy of this dll , yours is maybe corrupt

    and in the end: complete reinstall nav, if behavior stays

    I have restarted the service and done everything from scratch. I have also made sure that the dll in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\80\Service\Add-ins is not blocked.  It still does nok work.

    Would could I have done wrong?

    restart the nav service, then try again.

    it could also be that the dll is blocked by the OS.

    so check, if you see a button unblock when viewing the file properties.

    follow navbis.wordpress.com/.../what-to-do-if-the-dll-assemblies-are-blocked-by-windows

    also check the security settings of the dll.

    I have now tried to delete control add in and inserted a new record and imported the control addin. I get the same error message. If I text out CurrPage.Editor.LoadHtml(Txt); and CurrPage.Editor.RequestSave(); it compiles but else I get this message:

    1805.error.png

    1641.error2.png

    6431.error3.png

    As Jonathan mentioned this might be due to a issue of control add-in . Therefore Delete the current control add-in and add it again.

    i have tested it with nav 2015. no problems.

    check if you've also imported the file EriksTinyEditorControl.zip. it contains the stylesheet info (new with nav 2015, needed for usage in web client).

    result:

    HtmlEditReg.png

    register line as control addin

    HtmlEditReg.png

    no need to add the control addin to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\80\Service\Add-ins, because its only usable local with windows client (RTC).
