Look up for a particular option with an expression.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello Everyone,

I have created an option field 'Item Type' in 'Item’ & ‘Item Journal Line’ tables with few options like: Paper Roll, Ink, Plate, Chemical. Then I have taken this field in 'Item Card' & ‘Item Journal’ pages.

Now from 'Item Journal' page if I select an 'Item Type' = Paper Roll then the look up page of 'Item No.' is showing only those values whose 'Item Type' is 'Paper Roll' . No issue with that.

Now suppose there are 3 quantities for ‘Paper Roll’ Item Type in ‘Item Journal Line’ table. Now I need to create an expression by which I can able to see only those records  whose Quantity Sum will be greater than zero (>0) in ILE table. Only those records I can able to see on the Look up page of ‘Item Type’ field in ‘Item Journal’ page.

I have got stuck in this problem. Can anyone help me!

                                                               Thank You in anticipation.

Sir, another thing in the 'Entry Type' field, it will only take other options rather than 'Negative Adjmt.'. If I select the 'Negative Adjmt.' it shows an error. Sir, plz tell me how can I do this??

                                                     Regards,

Go to new line and see if it works. Do not try to amend the existing line.

Sir, right now I'm facing an issue over this problem again. It only works for Item Type = 'Paper Roll'. But when I select another 'Item Type' let's say 'Plate' or 'Ink' it shows a message "The view is filtered, and the entry is outside filter'. Some actions may not work". What should I do now??

Both are same dear. Item Ledger Entry -> Sum of Quantity = Item.Inventory.

But Sir the filter will apply on the Sum of Quantity field in Item Ledger Entry not 'Inventory'.

That's all. This would meet your requirement of Expression based filtering.

You would only see the Item's having inventory > 0.

    Hi,

Simply define the table relation in Item Journal Line > Item No. as follow.
