Validate sales tax field on Main Accounts. AX not enforcing validation setting

Hi all,

I've been setting the 'Validate sales tax' field to "To be filled in" for some main accounts, but when I post to these accounts AX isn't enforcing the validation setting and is allowing posting to these main accounts without a sales tax code. (Using general journal)

Is there another setting somewhere which needs to be configured so that this validation starts working?

Hello Anthony Y,

To my knowledge you also need to make sure that the GL Parameter "validate tax code" is activated. Then the check should work.

Your setup is ok. you have to setup one more place as below

General ledger -> Parameters ->Sales Tax -> validate tax code

Enabled the validation of sales tax code field when posting the ledger account.
