    Hi Tomasz,

Have you read through the help documentation for the Questionnaire functionality?

    Hi Shyla,

Thanks for the answer - I was probably not much clear, it's frustration.. I am trying to create questionnaire, and (even if I know MS page you linked, and as well I have additional .pdf MS docs), I am still unable to do so. I've created set of questions (using these docs, but without understanding), have created some answers as well (remarks as above), but it is not the way I would like to proceed; looking for clear, human-readable explanation of all the doubts I have after reading :(

    - why there are separate questions and answers? what is the purpose of having them separated, not prepared (both, q/a) in one form?

    - tried to assign one questionnaire to myself - but cannot see it in my questionnaires list; similar activity I've done for friend, and she is able to see questionnaire; what is the reason she can while I can not see that?

    - and what it interesting me much, I have dummy questionnaire configured, some (also dummy) questions and answer there, but.. how #^%&#&#$ can I see how it looks before I would decide to share/distribute? at the moment I am unable to see/check questionnaire I've prepared, and I wonder - did I miss something wrong, or it is 'feature' and I just won't be able to see questionnaire prepared?

By the way, did you/are you managing questionnaires on daily basis, or just share URL? :)

    regards

    Hi Tomasz,

There are separate questions and answers so that you can reuse both in new questionnaires.  For example, if you send the same questionnaire out to employees every year, you would want the same questions and the same answers available, but you would need to create a new questionnaire in order to keep your results separate.  With reusable questions and answers, it is quick to create the same questionnaire next year.

Answers are reusable because we want to save you time.  For example, if you have a Yes/No answer, you may want to reuse it for multiple questions.

There are a few reasons why you might not see a questionnaire. The  questionnaire is not “active” or it is “active”  but is limited to only those users in a “User rights” group. The questionnaire (either “active” or not “active”) was selected for scheduling (create “planned” questionnaires) but you are not a “Worker, Applicant, or Contact person” in the installed Ax application.

The following suggestion is from a colleague of mine:

"The easiest (personal choice) way to examine a questionnaire once you have it set up is to create a scheduled planned answer session for 1 person (usually the designer) and then “answer” the questionnaire. I would suggest that any enforcements on must answer or time limits be applied only after the layout, questions, and answers have been finalized. I would also suggest that during the design stage of the questionnaire that the answer sessions be “cancelled” before completing the questionnaire. This should allow the designed to re-use scheduled, planned answer session multiple times. After the questionnaire has been finalized and before it is formally used, the scheduled sessions for the designed can be deleted with all of its results. This will make sure that any answer data captured during the testing is eliminated before the questionnaire is put into production."

I helped to write the documentation at the URL that I sent earlier. I hope the above information helps.

    Hi Shyla,

Thanks for your answer again; as I was finally able to create working questionnaire, I stared also to make it more and more sophisticated :) - and to be honest, have to admit it is powerful tool. Still have lot of things to be discovered, however, seems I'll be able to make it work the way I would like to. If I would still have to complain - then still, simple step-by-step instruction how to create simplest questionnaire would save me a lot of frustration, shame it is not (I still believe it is not) provided by MS.

Regarding other issues I see at the moment - hope you (or someone else) may advice; as few questionnaires I created are already working in AX, I've tried to check how these are behaving in enterprise protal, and seems not perfect. Questionnaires which are working fine from AX, are extrememly slow in EP, in 75% of cases returning '..EP timeout.. ..resend your query..', and I am looking for possible causes; I believe reason is on sharepoint side, but maybe anyone can advice? If somebody had similar issue, and found solution - share it please. What is worth to be mentioned, problem is not related to questionnares only, but sharepoint / EP in general, it is extremely slow

    regards

    Hi Tomasz,

I'm glad that you were able to create your questionnaires. I'll look into documentation for a simple questionnaire.

Regarding your EP performance issues with Questionnaires in EP, I can't help with that as I have little EP experience. I suggest contacting support, or posting a new question on the Community site about ways to improve EP performance.

    Good luck!

..and maybe last question; was able to create questionnaires, was even able to make it is - depend on reults - shown as 'passed' or 'failed' in reports, but.. how to make certain questionnaire (in case it will be passed) grownig skills of employee? I set in course types that skills will grow to some level after completing course, but cn not find any relation between course completion and questionnaire results (assuming there is any) - how to make it work?

    Hi Tomasz,

I am happy I found you and sorry I can't help with your question.

I am new to Dynamics AX and Questionnaire. I have many problems with them. I still couldn't make my questionnaires appear in Enterprise Portal. Do I understand well that I will need Employee Self Service Portal? Did you use the same? Is it still very slow?

Thank you for your answer in advance

    regards,

    Hello Edina,

    sorry

    yes

    yes

    yes

    :)

In fact questionnaires seem to be quite ok as soon as its logic will be understood, however only one thing I was still unable to manage was to tie questionnaire 'passed' status with employee skill's scoring. On the other hand my company does not seem to use questionnaires in coming months, so no need to do so, however I am quite sure that this topic will come to life some day ;)

    Hi Tomasz,

thank you for your answer! Now I can schedule questionnaires, send e-mail to the respondent and fill them on EP. But I couldn't find out how can I set a whole team as respondant. I have to add everybody individually now. I read it's possible to add teams, but don't know how. Do you have an answer to share with me?

Sorry for having so much questions, nobody knows here how this modul works.

    Hi Edina,

As far as I remember I used only personal accounts to set them as respondants, so I am affraid I can not give you any advice, sorry :( on the other hand, if you would not find solution within few weeks, then I am quite sure will face same problem, then maybe.. :)

    regards

    Tomasz
