Field Service Agreement - Multiressource configuration on Booking setup agreement

Hello guys,

Is there a way to indicate multiple prefered ressources instead of one on the booking setup agreement?

Or even better, is there a way to configure characteristics and categories directly in the booking setup agreement?

The idea would be that when the Work Order is created, that the booking is planned to the ressource that fits the criteria.

I think the second option is only achieved with RSO, so i'm considering the 1st one.

I intend to change the relationship between ressources and booking setup entity from 1-N to N-M.

What do you guys think?

Thank you for your help.

I have the same question (0)

If you want to indicate multiple preferred resources, is that per agreement or per account? If per account you could specify them under Account>Resource Preferences. For the actual creation of the booking RSO would indeed be a good fit, Schedule Assistant works as well. Depending on how strict your preference is, either use "Preferred" or "Must choose from".

    Hello Alexander,

    Thanks for your answer.

I want to indicate per agreement.

Unfortunately, the customer is not ready budgetwise for RSO, so we need to try another solution.

What i could do is, in the same agreement, use different booking setups for each ressource, but that might be a lot of work for WO that need 10 ressources.

The request is, we create an agreement, define the charateristics of the ressources we want, and then when the WO and Booking are automatically created, they handle the ressources chosen.

    Thanks.

What prevents you from using the standard procedure? Create an agreement with incident types that include characteristics. Use Schedule Assistant or the API to find/book the resource.

Btw, we've seen some tremendous cost savings and efficiency improvements using RSO, so instead of re-building some of its logic to save license costs, look at some of the achievable benefits.

If you need preferred resources per agreement, configuration is likely your only option.

Because the customer wants it automatic. :)

I tried at first, putting a Generic ressource as prefered ressource on the agreement, hoping it to be replaced by a ressource that fits the characteristics implemented in the incident type, but it didn't happen.

It autocreates and books the booking to the generic ressource.

I guess the only solution will indeed be manual configuration, if we want to avoid inventing what exists already.

    Thanks for your help Alexander.

Would this work? Choose to not auto generate the booking, just generate the work order. Use the out of the box characteristics on the agreement booking setup. Then you will have a work order with required characteristics, and you can use the schedule assistant to search for a matching resource at an available time

    Hello Dan,

That is exactly our idea of proposal to the customer.

If not enough, we have to go with RSO. We don't want to reinvent the wheel... an expensive one.

    Thank you.
