When connected by RDP to \\Server_GP1 the user can launch GP2018 and access the application with no errors.
When the same user attempts to use the Web Client - which is running from \\Server_GP1 they always get the message that the Reports Dictionary needs to be updated. Clicking on OK gives them full access to the system, but as soon as they attempt to print they get the message that the report is not available, as the dictionary containing it is not available.
When I, as sa login, I have no message and no error
What are we missing? I have even made the user a power user - elimate all security from the application - no change. Looking at the folder security, the setting is EVERYONE - FULL CONTROL - so no sure where I need to change something.
Thanks in advance.
So my solution to this problem was to create a second ReportsWeb.dic file on the \\Server_GP1 and to point the \\Server_GP1 dynamics client and therefore the GP Web client to this report dictionary version.
Good news is that this client makes very very few changes to the reports files and so maintenance of the two dictionaries will not pose a big issue.
In addition, I have requested that the IT Team attempt to get 11.00.2100 version ODBC to be installed on the \\Server_GP1 - hoping but not holding breath.
Will update as when / if / things change.
Yes, and in a detailed review of the two machines the only difference we could determine that might matter is a different version of ODBC
11.00.2100 - ODBC does not generate the error
11.00.3000 - ODBC on the Web Client machine is what is generating the error
Can this be the cause or is there something deeper.
GP runs on both setups as expected until we go to print - then the machine with 11.00.3000 generates the message that the Reports.dic is not available.
Thanks for the assistance so far, at least now we are moving forward.
HI Bill,
If the user logins directly to the Terminal server where the GP Client is installed, do they get the same issue? My suspicion is that the web client and the GP client may be pointing to a different reports Dictionary. Take a look at the Dynamics.SEt for the both make sure they are the same.
