We are using Microsoft Dynamcis Ax 2012, total DB size is around 80 GB. The system sometimes slows down, it takes about 15 seconds to open the offer form, sometimes the same form opens in 3 seconds.

Something works and somehow slows down, gets better after a while, then slows down again after a while....

I think this issue is probably related to SQL Server, less likely network. I'm trying to monitor it with Activity monitor and SQL Server Profiler, but I couldn't use it very efficiently.

How can I detect the source of slowness? Do you have any suggestions?

Windows Server 2016
SQL Server 2016
100 GR RAM

Have you set up DynamicsPerf?

Jelle, yes I have installed DynamicsPerf before but I can't get any clear data.

Where exactly would you suggest I check?

When I open the offers and examine the running query on the Activity monitor, a screen like the one below appears.

Clustered Index Insert Cost: 97 %

This seems to be the reason for the slowness but I couldn't figure out what was causing it.
