What will be impact of moving solution from one end to other.

Hello All Experts,

I have dev and test environments,

we used to do customization in dev environment and then repeat the same in the test environment.

my query is i have created a separate unmanaged solution in the dev environment.

what will happen if i do move that in the test, or shall i repeat the things in test environment.

we do lot more R & D in dev.

I have selected only required items, like forms, fields, etc , not all the things i have selected.

    I'm not 100% sure I understand your problem, but if you move unmanaged solution to test, everything that is in it will be also moved to test as unmanaged customizations, so you will not be able to uninstall them from test environment

    Hi,

    if your unmanaged solution does not contain all the customizations that you made, you could end up suring the import of the solution with an error similar to that: "could not import solution because of missing components".

    CRM will already have you warned about that when you export your unmanaged solution. So if you export/import a solution be sure that in the target environment you have all needed components such as : relationships(1:N,...), fields, webresources,...
