Hi everyone

Sorry if this is a bit cheeky, but it is one of the only ways that I can ask the GP Community for support.

Just wanted to let you know that Jennifer and I are taking part in the Life Cycle for Canteen On Road 2021 300km bike ride over 3 days (6-8 March) from Bassendean to Busselton and would love your support to raise funds for Canteen Australia. Canteen provides support for children, teens and young adults who have been affected by cancer (personally, in their family or friends). It is a very worthy cause and really makes a difference in peoples lives.

The Life Cycle for Canteen charity started in 1998. It is the biggest fundraiser for Canteen in Western Australia and has already raised over $2 million. Jennifer will be piloting a tandem for a vision impaired stoker and I will be riding support on my single bike.

Thanks heaps for your support from us and the rest of the WATCAC (Western Australian Tandem Cycling Advisory Council) team.

PS: I am recovering well from the dog bite on my right calf.

Professional road cyclists can ride at over 50km/h without assistance and over 100km/h on downhills.

The following story happened. A group of friends at a military airfield bet that if a bicycle with a rider and a solid-fuel engine from an aviation rocket were attached, it would be possible to accelerate to speeds of over 50 kilometers per hour. Said and done. The cyclist was on the runway, the rocket motor was securely attached to the frame, the reference distance was measured, and the seconds were in place. Start the engine. The cyclist started and quickly accelerated to seventy, after which the bearing in the front wheel jammed, and then he tumbled without the bike. A flight helmet and winter clothes saved him from death. He went to the hospital with multiple fractures. But it turns out that he had managed to ensure the bike himself with https://simplebikeinsurance.com/, and the insurance covered both the cost of the bike and his medical expenses.

    Hi all

Thank-you very much for the great support from the GP Community.

I thought I would post a picture from our recent Century training ride on Sunday. 4 tandems with blind or vision impaired stokers and 2 single bikes rode 108km from Perth south to Mandurah and most of the way back. We ended up catching a train for a 25km section of the way home to shorten the ride as it was 36C/97F and we had already completed the target of 100km.
