Master Planning - Problem with missing items in a plan

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

I have a plan I'm running, but am experiencing that some of the items does not get planned!

If I go to the Net requirements and update the lines manually they are working!

Before the plan run, I have a batch that deletes the old, so its a fresh calculation everytime.

Any idea what to look for, I'm all out of ideas.

Regards

    Hi,

When you run from the planning module it is running globally AX checks on a global basis (For Ex : All levels of BOM) then it makes suggestion. If you run it on item basis it will check only one level. Please check the coverage group and the warehouse setup

    Hi

I did not know that there was that big of a difference from the Planning module to Item base.

I have looked through both Coverage groups and Warehouse setup, but I could not find anything.

Any other idea are most welcome.

    Thanks in advance

Are you using process manufacturing / formulas in production?  Do you use an end / parent item as an ingredient to itself to "blend off" material?  If so, the BOM level calculation job see's this, and calculates the BOM level of the parent item incorrectly.  Then master scheduling uses the BOM level to determine where to start exploding demand, which can cause the problems you are describing.

We've had to write mod's to ignore production formulas when re-calculating BOM levels to get around this.

Edit: just to confirm, you did check your coverage group and make sure it was not manual, right?

Are using descrete manufacturing, and my parent item is for sure not an ingredient to it self either :(

Starting to think its 'just' a stupid checkbox, but I have no idea where to find it.

    Ideas are still welcome.
