When a Work Order is completed and the product is converted into a Customer Asset, the Customer Asset is not assigned to the Functional Location

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

On my work order I assign a Functional Location but when the Work Order is 'Completed' and the Product Lines are converted into Customer Assets, the assets are correctly linked to the Service Account but not to the Functional Location I assigned to the Work Order.

I would've expected D365 Field Service to assign the newly created Customer Assets to the correct Functional Location.

Has anyone had the same issue?

    Hello Nya,

    You've described the manual process.

My question is about the automatic process.

    Hi,

Please refer to the following steps:

Step 1: In the Assets and Locations tab, tick the Show Assets option.

Step 2: To add a new asset, click the ... icon, add a new asset, or relate an existing asset to this particular location.
