Error creating second server instance Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server Administration

Hi All,

I have one instance of Navision 2016 CU6 running succesfully.

When creating a second instance in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server Administration tool I get an error when try to save the new instance:

'Unable to locate the default ServerInstance'.

I had some problems aftter update to 2016. First I could not start the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server Administration tool at all.

So I created a new .mcs file by first starting MMC en create a new Snap-in. After that it was showing one instance working.

I think it has something to do with the CustomSettings.config?

    I did the update by copying the files by hand and did not pay attention to the existing config file.

    Somehow the default config file was not correct anymore.

    At last i did the update again with the Install DVD. Now everything works fine again.

    Have you tried using powershell to create new server instance ?  Where is your customsettings file located ?
