PR WF - How to skip one person in the hierarchy approval?

Hi All,

Currently, I'm mapping the position's report-to in this order: Purchaser-->Manager-->VP-->COO.  Right now, there is no Director, but in the future, they may have a Director.  How do I tell the system that, in this department, if there is no Director, skip and move to the next approver in the hierarchy?  Where, in AX, can I do this setup?

    Hi Kim Johnson,

You can check for the following.

    1) Go to PR workflow designer and remove the step for "Director" for time being till that position is assigned to anyone in future.

    2) If point 1 is not to be followed at any cost, then assign this position to any suitable user on temporary basis to serve the purpose.

    3) If point 2 cannot be followed too, then keep that user ID as 'Active' (in case if this is already 'disabled') in the "Users" form in System admin module. This is the user I am talking about who was holding the "Director" position. And then set a 'Delegation' in that user. So, whenever the work item triggered to this position holder, it will be automatically delegated to the user who is supposed to take action in the same position at this moment.

Kindly check and update on the outcome.

    Regards,
    Sourav

You can use workflow calculated fields

    Hi Kim,

Are you able to set a Condition to skip this?

If not, can you set different approvals based on department so that one does not include the director?
