Purchase Req Approval Role

Can someone point me in the right direction?  Can you tell me who the minimum role is for someone who approves purchase requisitions?  I have area general managers whose only function in AX is to approve POs for their areas.  I need them to have the very least level of access possible.

    Hi Brian,

The next roles do have the permission to approve purchase requisitions.

    Budget manager

    Chief financial officer

    Manager

    Financial controller

    Purchasing manager

    Accounts payable manager

    Purchasing agent

    Purchasing Agent - Public Sector

Probably you can use the Manager role in this case. If this also has too many permissions, you can create a new role yourself containing only the duty "Approve purchase requisitions".

Awesome thanks.  I was hoping there was a Functional user role that could.  Aside from my single question here, is there a document to refer to with features?  I know the roles are defined in several documents but none I've seen actually list features allowed.

I've put in a Purchasing agent user role.  I then pulled the license report (ran the batch job first) and the user shows up as using an Enterprise license.  The only role they have it Purch Agent and System User.  I created a custom role with only Approve Purchase.  Reran the batch and reran the report and it still shows Enterprise license.  Any ideas?

    Hi Brian,

If you are running AX 2012 R2 with CU7 it might be a bug. Read my blog which describes a problem with the System user role: www.kaya-consulting.com/.../system-user-role-counted-as-enterprise-user-in-ax2012-r2-cu7
