Trying to get FRX to install on a Windows 10 Version 1709, Build 16299.402 machine. Was successful on a machine running an earlier version of Windows 10 but with the latest build, running into "the current version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate" error.
Found the following link where it would seem some users have had success in installing FRX on a newer version of Windows 10:

Wondering if someone else has had success or knows a way around the "the current version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate" error.
Thanks,
Michael.
If you were successful in installing FRX, what was your initial FRX Version/Build?

Hi Beat,
See that you responded to an old post of mine and your response seems a bit odd. Wondering if you were responding to another link?
Believe it or not, was able to get FRX to work on a Windows 2019 Server and GP 18. Needed to use SP12 and replace GPCONN.DLL with an earlier release. Also had to manually register the file via Reg32SRVC.exe.
Granted, should move away from FRX, but the last install place uses the reports very infrequently, if at all, but still wanted to ensure they could run them if need be for now.
Hi hadj,
This is a Dynamics GP forum.. not AX. Please post your request to the AX forum.
Do you have DYNAMICS AX 2009 image to share please?
Bluetooth or wireless devices is used for sharing the files and folders with the help of fixwindows10connections.com it will suggest you when you are in trouble.
I've uploaded new copies of everything. The shared folder is here: app.box.com/.../oaxsx2iyl2y14c3b511v8ik8o54f9z2h
It includes the full install of FRx 6.7 with SP 9, FRx 6.7 service pack 12 only & the GPConn.dll files.
This, along with installing the prerequisites and turning on the old .net 2.0 and 3.0 should get you up and running.
Please let me know if you have any issues.
Leslie
For those of you who do not have the old CD, I think I have the answer for you. You need to go to Programs and Features and turn on .net 2.0, which will also turn on .net 3.0. After that, download the files from Microsoft Update. The system will need to restart. When you install FRx, install the Prerequisite named Microsoft Data Access Components. Restart the machine and you should be able to get through the FRx installation without the error. Be sure to change the GPConn.dll to the 143Kb version and you should be good to go.
Live the Dream!

Hi Leslie
The Sub-Sub folders of the BIN directory do not appear to contain any files.
Could you possibly also upload an ISO of the disk?

Hi Stuart,
I'd be happy to repost. What appears to be missing?

Hi Michael
Sorry, my typo error CD is not July 2004 but June 2004. I use this Original CD with the label “Microsoft Business Solutions for Analytics FRx6.7 for Great Plains” June 2004 to install FRx6.7.
Firstly, I installed the “Prerequisites requirement from the actual CD” then “Install FRx”. I think the Prerequisite installed .NET 1.x, which the older GP and FRx need to run. After the CD installation then I installed those service packs.
Hopefully, the above information will help you to install FRx6.7.
Regards
SLC
Hi Leslie
The content within your BOX link does not appear to be complete - files seem missing - would you be able to repost the content?
